AIWantsThis runs aiwantsthis.com, a directory of AI tools, MCP servers, agent skills, and prompts. This page explains what we collect, why, and who processes it. You can browse the site without an account, and we never ask for your name or email.

What we collect

Suggestions you send

The suggestion form asks for a resource name, its website, its type, and what it helps you do. We store your answers so we can review them, and we may publish details about the resource you suggested. Please do not include personal information in the form.

Security check

The suggestion form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam. To run the check, Cloudflare processes your IP address and technical details about your browser and device. When you send the form, we pass your IP address to Cloudflare to confirm the result. See the Turnstile privacy addendum.

Abuse limits

To limit repeated submissions, we keep a counter tied to a one-way hash of your IP address. Each counter expires after one minute and is deleted afterward. We do not store your raw IP address in our database.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people use. It records pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location, and device and browser type, and it sets cookies to recognize repeat visits. You can block it with your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records basic request details, such as IP address, page address, time, and browser type, to keep the service secure and fix errors. Our own logs leave out what you type into forms.

Cookies

• aiwantsthis_theme remembers whether you picked light or dark mode with the theme switch. It lasts one year.
• _ga and _ga_* are Google Analytics cookies. They last up to two years.
• A sign-in cookie is set only for the site owner when managing the catalog.

Who processes your data

We use these providers to run the site:

• Vercel hosts the website and API.
• Supabase hosts our database in Singapore.
• Cloudflare runs the security check on the suggestion form.
• Google provides analytics.

These providers may process data outside your country. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

How long we keep it

We keep suggestions until we have reviewed them and as long as they help us maintain the catalog. Abuse-limit counters expire after one minute and are then deleted. Analytics data and hosting logs are kept for the periods set in our Google Analytics and Vercel settings.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. To ask what we hold about you, or to have a suggestion you sent deleted, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over your personal data, and we will help you use them.

Children

AIWantsThis is meant for developers and other adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
